Collaborative Divorce

Collaborative Divorce is a way for couples to divorce without going to court. Collaborative Divorce resolves a divorce case with a process that assists the parties in to crafting the divorce settlement. The parties work together in a respectful way that protects their children and protect the family’s assets.

In a Collaborative Divorce, there is a Collaborative team which includes the financial neutral as well as communications coaches and attorneys for each party. Collaborative Divorce is a private and confidential process. It provides the resources, structure and emotionally safe space needed for a divorcing couple arrive at a mutually-agreeable settlement–outside the eye of the public and outside of court.

Our role is to serve as a neutral financial advisor in the case. We analyze the financial picture of the family including all the family assets and develop options for how to divide those assets. Those options will be based on the goals of each party in the divorce. The financial neutral in a Collaborative Divorce case does not tell each party what to do, but to help the couple to understand their financial picture and to understand their individual post-divorce finances.

Collaborative Divorce is a more cost-effective and efficient process than a traditional divorce. It is a process that enables couples to invest directly in solutions rather than a costly litigated process. Collaborative Divorce is a better way to untie the knot.
